MEET three young miracles.

Aimie, James and Katie-Louise were all born prematurely.

But thanks to the hard work and efforts of doctors and nurses at the special care baby unit at Dorset County Hospital in Dorchester the trio of youngsters are thriving.

Now their proud mum Toni Limb is set to embark on a major fundraising drive to say thank you to the hospital workers who helped to make her family complete.

All three children came into the world early.

The two eldest - Aimie, five, and James, four, were born weighing just over 4lb each - but tiny Katie-Louise came into the world weighing little more than a bag of sugar.

The youngster was born 13 weeks premature, 10 weeks ago, weighing just 2lb 4oz.

But after spending nine weeks in the special care baby unit the tiny tot is thriving and arrived home in Martinstown last week weighing a healthy 5lb 9oz.

Toni, 21, who lives with partner Andy, said: "She is doing very well now and it's all down to the special care baby unit - they have really supportive. It's been like that for all three children.

She said the hospital has been marvellous, which is why she is proposing to have a family fun day to help raise money for the unit.

The event is planned for Saturday, August 28 at Martinstown Village Hall from 10am to 7pm and will feature a variety of stalls, a bouncy castle, barbecue, raffle and auction.

"It's the first time I have ever organised anything like this before. I started planning it before Katie-Louise was born. I didn't know she was going to be early but it makes it even more important to raise as much money as possible for the special care baby unit.

"Katie-Louise is doing really well now. The other two really love her and want to hold her all the time.

"This is our way of saying thank you. I just hope people will support us."
