GARY Emerson stormed into contention for his first European Tour title after shooting a magnificent seven-under-par 65 in the second round of the BMW Russian Open August 13.
The Broadstone touring professional is tied for fifth place on eight-under-par at the halfway stage in Moscow.
The 40-year-old's round included two eagles, four birdies and only one dropped shot.
Southbourne-based Lee James also made the cut after he birdied the last three holes to finish on two-under but Poole's Shaun Webster missed the cut.
