THE brother of Austria coach crash victim David Hamilton may take part in a poignant tribute concert.

Stuart Hamilton has been talking to Beaulieu Band president Brett Johnson about the possibility of taking part in a memorial event.

Stuart, who like his late 33-year-old brother is a keen musician, plays the euphonium with Poole Borough Band.

Still highly emotional about his loss, he told the Daily Echo: "I'm happy to play."

Meanwhile Tim Carling, wife Jackie and children William, 14, and Rebecca, 12, who miraculously escaped the crash with cuts and bruises, were due home in Walkford today (August 14).

David Hamilton, of Southbourne, was an enthusiastic trombonist and played with Lymington Town Band, Beaulieu Band and the New Forest Big Band.

Members of all three have been deeply upset by his death.

Beaulieu Band president Brett Johnson said with a combined band they could amass 40 musicians.

"It may well be appropriate to get all the bands together. It would be well worthwhile and it would be a particularly moving thing to have.

"I've been speaking with Dave's brother Stuart and he said he would very much like to come along and play."

Beaulieu Band members will be meeting to discuss the concert on Tuesday.

He said David commanded great respect, not only as a trombonist, but also someone who could teach playing while marching.

"He will be very greatly missed. He was a marvellous, lovable man."

Doreen Pullen, of New Forest Big Band and Lymington Band, said she had known David for more than seven years.

She said his death was "unbelievable". "We cannot comprehend it whatsoever," she said. "He was such a nice guy as well. He was a friend to everybody and would do anything for anybody."

Liz Cullen, David's partner, also played with Lymington Band.

Mrs Pullen said Liz was now out of intensive care and was expected home at the weekend or early next week.
