BROCKENHURST pummelled Christchurch with a first-half onslaught as they raced out of the blocks to record a comfortable opening day victory at Grigg Lane.
Three goals in the opening 45 minutes won the game for Graham Kemp's side before Priory had a chance to think about bedding themselves into the new campaign.
Encouragingly for Badgers, their summer striking additions, Jason Lovell and Lee Winsall, were involved in two of the three goals.
But while the Brock boss was pleased with the result, he revealed the mood in the dressing room at the end of the game was not as chipper as you might have expected.
"For some reason we were a little bit anxious in the second half and after the game, there was a bit of a flat atmosphere among the lads as we went back to last season's ways a little," admitted Kemp.
"We seemed to conserve our energy but we can't complain. We were excellent in the first half and looked a real threat going forward.
"Winning your first game always takes a bit of pressure off and sets you up for the season and we will only get better."
John Grace had to be alert to kick Paul Ridout's 10th minute effort off the line but this was as close at Pete Moore's side were to get in the match as the hosts swamped them.
Lovell opened his and Brock's account for the season when he latched onto Dave Midgley's through ball and knocked the ball past Max Frampton to make it 1-0.
White was then on hand to profit from Winsall's endeavours down the right, tucking home a tasty-looking cross for the second.
And the three points were effectively sealed just 35 minutes in when Marc Issacson rose highest to head home Nick Kemp's free-kick and knock the stuffing out of Christchurch.
