MELPLASH mechanic Chris David produced his best classic trials finish in Cornwall recently.
The Woolbridge Motor Club member winner in the sprint racing his VW Polo G40 at the Association of South West Motor Clubs championship in Cornwall.
Over three laps, he posted a best time of 1min 25.63sec, just under two seconds outside of the course record at St Eval near Padstow.
It's the first time he has recorded a top three finish and put his success down to technique.
He said: "I drove a bit more aggressively. On Sunday I was 10 seconds in front of the third-placed car which is quite a big margin."
David, 46, owns the Round the Corner garage and is in his fourth year of racing after starting out in a Porsche 944.
