CHERRIES booked their place in the second round of the Carling Cup with a 3-1 win over Leyton Orient last night.
Goals from Marcus Browning, Warren Cummings and James Hayter put Sean O'Driscoll's side in the hat for tonight's draw.
O'Driscoll said: "You've got to give credit to Orient because they had done their homework and made it difficult for us - so much so that we changed it after 20 minutes.
"It was a strange game because we probably had the better chances in the first half in the sense that we made the keeper save them and yet they had three or four things flashing across the box so it could have been 4-4 at half-time.
"We were pleased to go in at 1-1 and, in the second half, we changed a few things.
"I felt we were a bit anxious in the first half and I thought we were chasing a game we didn't have to chase. We were quite content to soak up a bit of pressure and hit teams on the break.
"With the concerts at the ground, we've played 11 away games and got beaten twice so that's a credit to them. We should use that experience a bit more.
"It's the first time we've changed systems since the start of the season so that's a credit to them. I think we still created chances when we weren't really playing on all cylinders and that bodes well for the future.
"Coming in at 1-1, we thought we could only play better in the second half and I thought we did."
O'Driscoll, when asked about the draw, said: "We would prefer an away tie I suppose with the capacity of the ground.
"We've said before, we are playing for the chance and we've got a chance.
"We've said that before and been drawn at less glamorous clubs so maybe this is our year."
