LLAMAS were the star attraction in Weymouth yesterday as they took a stroll around the town in aid of charity.
The animals were in the resort to help boost funds for WAWA, a local charity that raises money for disadvantaged Peruvian children.
Crowds surrounded the animals while the organisers and founders of WAWA, Chris and Mary Bunney, from Powerstock, plus helpers, collected donations in buckets. Chris and Mary also own the Quipu shop in Brewers Quay that sells goods from Peru they bring back from their annual trips to the South American country.
Chris said: "It was a great day. The people in Weymouth have again been fantastic with their support and incredibly generous.
"We've had ladies baking cakes and selling them on stalls and someone has asked what they can do to help us in the future.
"All the money goes straight to the families, as there is no middleman or expenses, and people have been interested to find out more about it."
Chris and Jo Harwood, from UK Llamas near Beaminster, supplied Roy, who is Peruvian, and Kuzco, from Bolivia, free of charge for the day from their llama farm.
Roy and Kuzco are famous for acting as a model for Disney's The Emperor's New Groove film.
