DENNIS Quaid and director John Lee Hancock, who previously worked together on The Rookie, reunite for this latest dramatisation of one of the most famous episodes in American history.
In 1836, a platoon of 300 American soldiers took charge of an outpost known as the Alamo in San Antonio in Texas. For 13 days, the soldiers managed to stave off the advances of the larger Mexican army led by Generalissimo Antonio Miguel Lopez de Santa Ana (Emilio Echevarria). However, their efforts were ultimately in vain. Quaid takes the role of Sam Houston, Jason Patric plays Jim Bowie and Billy Bob Thornton essays the legendary Davy Crockett.
