IT'S questionable whether Lymington and New Milton boss Ian Robinson would ever claim to be much of a Basement Jaxx fan, writes James Morton.
But on the day both his side and the acclaimed dance band played on the Isle Of Wight, the Linnets boss was left questioning where his players' heads were at.
And while their 2-1 reverse made it three defeats out of five in Wessex One this season, Robinson refuses to go on to Red Alert and indeed with a little more Good Luck, his team could have left the Island with some sort of reward.
The decisive passage of play came with just five minutes left to play. From a corner, Kevin Reacord smashed a shot that came down off the underside of the bar and on to the goal-line bringing appeals for a goal from the Linnets players.
There was no goal given and in the ensuing aftermath there looked to be a push a Linnets player but again the referee ruled against the Fawcett's Field side.
And to truly compound their misery, Cowes broke swiftly from the clearance and Elliot Day slotted home the winner to make it a miserable ferry journey home.
"You could say it was one of those days but we seem to be having quite a few of those at the moment," sighed Robinson.
"We are not showing the right character in the side at the moment.
"We're not half as good as we think we are.
"The players need to get motivated. I don't want to be bawling and shouting before and after every game. If they can't get inspired by pulling that shirt on, I don't know what I can do.
"For the winning goal, we just didn't use our brains. There was a lack of discipline and concentration but then, we were like that all game."
Ross Gregory has given the hosts the lead on the half hour but Darren Curtis levelled matters before the break with his third goal in as many games, powerfully heading home Jimmy Sheppard's corner.
