CYCLISTS blazed a trail through Dorset on the latest leg of a 400-mile journey between London and Cornwall's Eden Project.
Riders from all over the country had breakfast at County Hall in Dorchester before setting off on the fifth day of the week-long ride marking out a new route on the National Cycle Network.
As well as being the first people on the new route, the riders are also celebrating the 10th anniversary of the National Lottery, the body that provides cash for Sustrans, the sustainable transport charity that runs the National Cycle Network.
A spokesman for Sustrans said: "This is the grand finale of a series of rides we have organised with the Government's Department for Culture, Media and Sport to World Heritage Sites around the UK.
"As well as promoting an enjoyable way to visit, the cycle rides will highlight that World Heritage Sites, however protected, are still under threat from society's over-dependence on the motor car."
