ANYONE wanting a bijou residence in Beaminster may be in luck with the sale coming up of the former telephone exchange in Whitcombe Road.
Estate agents Symonds and Sampson are selling the property at auction in Poundbury on September 24.
The guide price is £25,000 but a similar exchange sold in Stalbridge for £48,000. The property has a frontage of 24ft by 9.6ft with room to park a car.
There is a little entrance hall of 9.2ft by 6.10 and a 4.6ft x 6.10 closet with WC and basin and a main room of 32.10ft by 14ft.
A spokeswoman for Symonds and Sampson said there were concrete floors and pine tongue and groove ceilings and mains water and electricity had been connected in the past and could be again.
She said obviously the property would need planning permission for change of use to residential but given that would make an ideal holiday home with no garden to worry about and somewhere to park a car.
The property is coming up for sale with a number of others in the area in Dorchester at Poundbury's Brownsword Hall on September 24.
Enquiries to Symonds and Sampson's agricultural department on 01308 422092.
