A SHOP assistant who was found collapsed on a West Dorset beach took a drug overdose before her death. An inquest at Dorchester heard that Susan Hill committed sui cide in April this year. The body of the 56-year- old woman, of Nutcombe Terrace, Charmouth, was found on the beach at Charmouth on April 13. Coroner Michael Johnston was told Mrs Hill left a suicide note at her home. Her GP, Dr Martin Beckers, said in a state ment Mrs Hill's husband, Steve, left her suddenly in December last year, after which she was prescribed anti-depressants, but Dr Beckers added that he did not believe Mrs Hill had shown any obvious suici dal signs and he had no concerns over her mental state. PC Kevin House told the inquest that the body of Mrs Hill was found lying face down in shingle on the beach at Charmouth. He said the tide may have washed over her body before she was found and that there were no obvious signs of a struggle having taken place. Mr Johnston recorded a verdict of suicide and said he was satisfied Mrs Hill intended to take her own life.
