CHART toppers Shapeshifters and top-name DJs including Erick Morillo, Danny Rampling and Brandon Block headline the all-night Freedom festival at the Larmer Tree Gardens on October 16.
Designed to tap into nostalgia for the grand semi-legal raves of the late '80s and early '90s, the Party For Peace organisation is aiming to tap into the best of the dance music talent from the last 15 years, giving ravers old and new a chance to dig out their old surgical masks, smiley faces and lollipops.
Other big-name DJs lined up include Alex P, Ratpack, Tayo, Joey Beltram, JFK and Soul of Man.
The main stage will be hosted by Saint & Sinner.
Fingerlickin' Records are putting on a breaks arena, with the old skool stage fronted by Ratpack and Club Destiny. High Society is staging the hard house/trance arena.
In an echo of raves gone by, there will be a fun fair, extreme sports rides, street performers, laser shows and a festival village.
Promoter Nick Whitbread, the man who founded Slinky, said: "It's fantastic to be involved with an event such as Freedom. It's the first time anything has happened here on this scale since Fantazia in 1992.
"We have a first-class line-up, catering for all tastes and we are expecting a few surprises during the event.
"We just want people to leave their troubles at the gate and come and help recreate some of the magic of the early dance parties."
The event will raise money for the Willow Foundation, which arranges special days for seriously ill young adults.
Tickets are available on 0871 226 1984, price £35; or book online at freedomfestival.co.uk
