AFTER a busy summer, including a 25-date UK tour in aid of Surfers Against Sewage and Boarding for Breast Cancer, punk trio getAmped are preparing for the release of debut album, Phoney Society, which is due at the end of October. The guys have also just finished filming a video for the next release, Too Far, which they hope will match the success of first single, In The Dark, becoming one of the top ten most requested videos on Scuzz TV back in May. For more information on the band and to find out when you can catch them live, visit www.getAmped.co.uk.
FOR those of you who spend most of your evening shouting your requests at the DJ when they never seem to play what you like, PODPARTY! May be the event for you. DJ eeK invites you to bring your Pod or personal stereo loaded with your favourite tracks to Mr Smiths on Saturday, October 9. There are no rules as to what the music has to be, just as long as it's something you want to hear, whether it's produced by you, or a song you love that you think people should know about, turn up and enjoy the random sounds the night has to offer. Doors are at 8pm and entry is £2. For more information email: eek@podparty.com
FEVERTREE will be playing Mister Smiths tomorrow night with support from Zero Point Field, who feature the former drummer of KulaShaker. Log onto the band's website at www.fevertreemusic.com.
AS some of you might have heard, due to circumstances beyond their control 24-7 Community Radio, which was scheduled to start broadcasting on September 20, has been postponed until later this year.
