AS if running around the hills of Corfe Castle was not enough, a downpour of rain added to the heavy going during a family fun day and races aimed at raising cash to repair the village's town hall and museum.
But the showers did not put off residents and visitors who turned up to support the cause as it nears its £50,000 target.
An invitation run arranged by the Wessex Hash House Harriers went according to plan in the morning and was followed later by a "generations relay" featuring a team with members ranging in age from those born in the 1920s to the very youngest toddlers.
Chairman of the Corfe Castle Town Trust Ken Wollaston was one of those who braved the rain to take part. "It has been well supported and we look to do well out of it," he said.
The day was completed with a fireworks finale.
