THREE hundred balloons have raced off from a Weymouth supermarket to raise money for charity.
Bosses at Asda in Newstead Road let the barrage go with prizes for both the finder and owner of the balloon which travels furthest.
Proceeds from the venture are going towards the store's two-week campaign to raise money for the charity Breast Cancer Care.
The effort has raised £1,100 so far, after other activities including a sponsored head shave and parachute jump.
Nine other supermarkets in the South West are also raising funds for the charity.
Anyone who finds one of the ticketed balloons - which are coloured pink with an Asda tag - furthest away from Weymouth Asda will win £25, with the owner netting themselves £50.
Asda events co-ordinator Kim Llewellyn said customers had been very generous.
