INCISIVE attacking play kept Oakmeadians up with the pacesetters at the top of the South West Division Two East as three classy tries set up a 19-6 triumph over Windsor.

Francois Van Schalkwyk, Jeremy Cook and Rob Bongard finished off some fine offensive rugby to make it two wins out of two in the league for the Meyrick Park side.

Windsor enjoyed much the better of the early exchanges but the tough home tackling ensured they had only a Dave Simmonds penalty to show for their endeavours.

Van Schalkwyk replied to put Oaks level just before the break before Simmonds restored the Berkshire side's lead early in the second half with his second penalty.

Another rapier move slashed through the visiting defence 55 minutes in, with full back Cook joining the line to add the finishing touch and he converted his own try to put the Bournemouth side 12-6 to the good.

Bongard finished the job as he had the last say in a move that swung from left to right and back again to maintain Oaks' 100 per cent start.

Oakmeadians: Cook, Payne, Saunders, Harman, Van Schwalkwyk, Walton, Reed (Brady), Bongard, Gallagher, Riley (Siaki), Croker, Blewett, Flower, Clarke (Botha), Hokianga.

Oaks' 3rds put in a heroic defensive action as they shared a 7-7 draw with Weymouth 3rds in Dorset and Wiltshire Division One South.

Another draw, this time a 17-17 thriller for Oaks Colts at Chippenham, while Oaks Ladies crashed 20-0 at London Welsh in their league opener.

Bournemouth also kept up an unblemished start to their Southern Counties South campaign with a much-cherished 13-6 win over Dorchester.

Despite early pressure from the home side at Chapel Gate, they found themselves 6-0 behind 20 minutes in thanks to two well-struck penalties from Dorchester full-back Matt Read.

Jon Sanchez halved the deficit after the visitors' forwards were penalised and Read then missed another chance just before the break.

Despite being reduced to 14 early in the second half, with Darren Clarke sin-binned, a huge effort from the Lions' forwards held Dorchester at bay.

Then, Bournemouth centre Robert Bruce showed his strength to eventually hand on to Chris Denholm who dived in right under the posts and Sanchez added the conversion to hand the hosts a 10-6 advantage.

The fly-half added another three points to his haul with a long-distance penalty to move the Chapel Gate side further ahead.

And although the referee added six minutes of injury time, Dorchester could not find the energy to respond and Bournemouth hung on pole position.

Bournemouth: Spencer, McHugh, Bruce, Dallyn, Rose, Sanchez, M Coxon (Cawley 64), Holdaway, Cawley (Denholm 64), Clarke (G Scott 54), Harris, Seward, Beswick (Kiely 4), Carroll, Kenny.
