BOURNEMOUTH teenager Judith Cooling has been selected to represent Great Britain at the second Down's syndrome world swimming championships in South Africa, in November.
Judith, 19, who lives at Queens Park, is one of 13 swimmers picked from 200 who took part in the Down's syndrome national championships at Reading in June.
She will be hoping to emulate her success at the inaugural world championships at Reading two years ago, when she won three gold medals, three silver and two bronze.
She also won six medals - two of each colour - at the 2001 Special Olymics in Cardiff.
Judith, one of Britain's more experienced Down's syndrome swimmers, trains three times a week with the able-bodied squad at Ringwood Seals and at least once a month with Reading Cygnets, a specialist club for swimmers with disabilities.
She learnt to swim as a toddler and received her first ASA certificate at the age of five. She joined Cygnets when she was 11 and Seals aged 13.
Judith will be swimming the 50 and 100m backstroke and 50 and 100m freestyle in Durban.
