SKY CAPTAIN AND THE WORLD OF TOMORROW (PG): Top-class futuristic fun starring Jude Law and Gwyneth Paltrow.
LAYER CAKE (15): Classy Brit gangster flick. A cut above the rest.
SAW (18): Genuinely edge-of-seat horror film about the captured victims of a serial killer. Gory and terrifying.
YU-GI-OH (U): Atrocious big-screen incarnation of kiddies' TV show and card game. Avoid.
WIMBLEDON (12A): Likeable rom com featuring dithering British tennis star (Paul Bettany) whose game finds fresh zest after he gets together with American bad girl (Kirsten Dunst). Notting Hill with racquets.
CELLULAR (15): Kim Basinger is taken hostage and her only lifeline is a dodgy mobile phone. Surprisingly effective schlock and Basinger shines.
HERO (12A): 2,000 years ago, China is in conflict. The King of Qin wants to be emperor, but the other states send out a trio of assassins to scupper his plan. Lavish epic with terrific action sequences.
COLLATERAL (15): Assassin Tom Cruise hijacks Jamie Foxx's cab, while racing to kill five impending trial witnesses. Slick, tense stuff.

GARFIELD: THE MOVIE (U): A celluloid outing for the corpulent cartoon cat, voiced brilliantly by the ever-droll Bill Murray. Reasonable family fare.
BEFORE SUNSET (15): Nine years after Before Sunrise brought Ethan Hawke and Julie Delpy together for a brief encounter in Vienna, the pair meet again in Paris. Tender.
CINEWORLD WEDNESDAY SPECIAL: NOTEBOOK (12A): Romantic weepy told in flashback about a young couple's quest to be together.
CINEWORLD MONDAY CLASSIC: SINGING IN THE RAIN (U): The story of silent movie stars adapting to 'the talkies' as unadulterated joy from start to finish, with Gene Kelly's dancing in the rain sequence the stand-out moment.
CINEWORLD MOVIES FOR JUNIORS (SATURDAY, 10AM):
HARRY POTTER AND THE PRISONER OF AZKABAN (PG): A little bit of black magic from director Alfonso Cuaron makes for the best Potter film yet, as Harry (Daniel Radcliffe) squares up to the sinister Sirius Black (Gary Oldman).
HARRY POTTER AND THE CHAMBER OF SECRETS (PG): Book two, in which Hogwarts' pupils are under deadly threat - and Harry holds the key.
TWO BROTHERS (U): Tale of two tigers, separated at birth, who are brought back together as adults. Beautifully-filmed family entertainment.
