Battling Josh takes British Championship third
BMX racing British Championships at Cheddar last Sunday Josh and Eddie Moore, from Lyme Regis, were among 20 youngsters taking part in the six and under class.
Elder brother Josh, six, got through his heats comfortably with a first, first and second to make it into the semi-finals.
Eddie, four, came back from a crash in his second heat, which dropped him down to seventh, to gain good results with a fourth and second to make it through to the semis.
Josh won his semi ahead of Tom Novis from Burnham, but Eddie had the curse of gate eight and could only manage fifth - missing out on the final by one place.
In the final, Josh also had to start from the dreaded gate eight and although he had a great start, it was no surprise when Midlands rider Reece Brownson held on to first place, leaving Josh and Novis to battle for second, nearly knocking each other off their bikes on the way round.
Novis was determined not to let Josh get the better of him this time and managed to pip him across the line.
