DESPITE all the wars waged in the last 60 years, the tiny island of Malta is still the most bombed place on earth.
Its bravery in withstanding a four-year siege earned its people a collective George Cross and played a vital role in the Allied war effort.
Salisbury-based author Holland tells the compelling story of Malta and its people during that fateful time, drawing on fascinating eyewitness accounts.
It's a well-written, lovingly-told tale, though at times you almost feel the book is just too densely-packed with information.
