POLICE are searching for two valuable antique tapestries stolen from a Bournemouth house.
One of the tapestries, thought to date from 18th century France, shows an image of a pheasant surrounded by flowers and trees and is seven feet high and four feet wide.
The second stolen tapestry shows exotic birds in a landscape and measures seven ft high and ten ft wide.
Police say the theft took place sometime between 1.30am and 9.30am on Wednesday September 29 at a house in West Overcliff Drive, Bournemouth.
PC Karen Brown said: "It is still not clear how the thieves entered the house but I'm hoping that by releasing a picture of one of the tapestries someone may recognise it and ring the police."
People with information about the stolen tapestries or who saw anyone acting suspiciously in West Overcliff Drive should ring the Dorset Police Appeals line on 01202 222500 or call Crimestoppers line on 0800 555 111.
