HISTORY came alive as a television crew filmed at a Dorset landmark.
Maiden Castle near Dorchester is set to feature in a major new historical terrestrial television series.
The eight-part series called Revival will be seen across the South and look at life in a number of historical eras.
Members of the Legio-Secunda Augusta Roman re-enactment group carried out a siege at the Iron Age fort for the cameras.
The series is being produced by Dorset-based Touch Productions and is due to be shown on ITV next spring.
Antoinette Woolven, of English Heritage, said: "We're delighted Touch Productions decided to use Maiden Castle for what should be an interesting, entertaining and insightful series.
"The company is Dorset-based so it is great they are using locations on their doorstep."
