ACCOMPLISHED writer and award-winning biographer Berg met the four-times Academy Award winning actress Katherine Hepburn in 1983, beginning a special friendship that lasted until she died in 2003, aged 96.
For seven decades Hepburn had a leading role as an actress, movie star and an icon of the modern American woman. Berg's honest account of her life, based on "countless conversations" between the them, is interesting as Hepburn was one of the most private figures of her time. It includes her relationships with Spencer Tracy and Howard Hughes, with special guests such as Michael Jackson and Warren Beatty visiting her New York home in the last 20 years.
