PIRATES skipper Magnus Zetterstrom has offered reassurance his big names will be flying for Monday night's play-off final second leg despite a subdued team display at Swindon on Thursday.
Poole went down 53-40 in the second leg of their Knockout Cup semi-final at Blunsdon but still cruised through to a final confrontation with Ipswich 101-83 on aggregate, courtesy of their 61-30 bludgeoning of the Robins at Wimborne Road the previous night.
But the lacklustre performances of stars such as Bjarne Pedersen and Antonio Lindback were notable, as Pirates were indebted to the inspired form of Krzysztof Kasprzak and Ryan Sullivan to carry them safely through.
Zorro was unflustered by the showing, however, and is confident once the intensity is turned back up, his side will rise to the challenges.
He said: "The defeat at Swindon will have no bearing on Monday night. It was not so important to win on Thursday as we knew the hard work had been done at Poole.
"It can be very hard to go out there and ride knowing that no matter how badly you do, you will still go through. Wednesday night, we were really pumped up before hand but you could feel it was a lot more relaxed for the second leg.
"That's taking nothing away from Swindon who showed what a good side they are, but if we had needed to, I'm sure we could have raised it.
"But it would have been stupid to try silly things as the last thing we wanted to do was get injuries before the second leg with Wolves."
