SENIOR residents are enjoying a new patio courtesy of a contracting company.
Community worker Kris Hallet said that the Fairway Court, Weymouth residents had upset by the noise caused by nearby building development. She said: "There has been a lot of noise and mess and a hedgerow disappeared. The building company Rok came and asked if there was anything they could do for us and we suggested building a patio, so they did it free of charge."
Residents set about raising funds to buy flowers to decorate the area. Goulds garden centre offered discount baskets.
Kris added: "It's a lovely area for the residents and everyone helped with the planting.
"Before this was built there was no area for sitting down, it was all uneven garden. Now we have a place we can bring wheelchairs."
