Dorchester fans are hoping they haven't seen the last of their Spanish goalscoring hero Juan Ugarte.
The 24-year-old former Real Sociedad striker, who has scored six goals in his seven appearances for the Magpies but has missed the last three games through suspension, is currently at Coca-Cola League One club Wrexham trying to earn himself a full-time contract.
And Magpies boss Mark Morris is hoping he won't repeat the kind of impact he made when he scored a hat-trick at Welling on his Dorchester debut back in August.
"We knew this might happen because the lad came over to this country with the intention of trying to get a full-time contract in English football which is obviously something we can't offer him," explained Morris.
"We persuaded him to come and play for us on a non-contract basis with the understanding that we wouldn't try to stop him trying his luck elsewhere and that is what he is doing while we have a couple of weeks without a game.
"His agent has fixed him up with a trial up north and all we can do is wait and see what happens.
"We wish him well, but at the same time we'll be hoping he doesn't do too well because we want him to come back and play for us.
"The money would be made available if he decided to settle for part-time football with us," added Morris.
Earlier this season Ugarte had a trial with Tony Adams' Wycombe Wanderers and scored for them in a pre-season friendly.
But he was not offered a contract by the Coca-Cola League Two side and was then introduced to Dorchester by fellow countryman Joseba Barandiaran who had already been offered a contract by Morris.
Meanwhile Magpies striker Matt Groves will appear before a Dorset FA Disciplinary Panel on Monday to try and over-turn a lengthy suspension.
Groves asked for a personal hearing - at which he will be supported by Morris and
several other witnessses - after the county banned him for 35-days when he was sent off for the first time in his career in Dorchester's pre-season friendly away to Bournemouth Poppies.
Had the straight red card come in a Nationwide Conference South game Groves would probably have received a three-game ban - but the FA decided they wanted the matter dealt with by the county administrators because the game involved a club from a lower league - and Dorset's standard punishment for that level of offence is a 35-day
suspension
