Beaminster fall short in frantic finale
BAC 3 Beaminster 2
BEAMINSTER were without two key players and gave debuts to youngsters Jess Lambert and Sara Lou.
In an encounter of high skill and speed, there was nothing between the sides until BAC pounced on a midfield error to go one up at half time.
Beaminster came out the stronger team however, launching attack after attack until a determined Emily Bloxham found the equaliser.
But fatally, Beaminster relaxed after the goal, giving the Bristol side a short corner which they converted in style and 10 minutes later they added a third to put the game out of reach.
Four minutes from time, Beaminster's never-say-die approach was rewarded with an excellent goal from player of the match Julia Broom.
The remaining minutes were frantic, with Beaminster continually threatening, but it was too little too late.
Beaminster: Carrie Wallace, Ruth David, Gill Barr, Emma Gardiner, Julia Broom, Nicky Wright, Claire Mudford, Andrea Prentice (Sara Lou), Emily Bloxham, Jess Lambert.
