HOLLYWOOD superstar Minnie Driver makes an unlikely stop in Bournemouth on October 30 as she launches a new career... as a singer.
Minnie, whose debut album Everything I've Got In My Pocket is out now, has been booked as support on the Finn Brothers tour which plays a sold out Bournemouth Pavilion.
It's far from her first flirtation with the music business - she was a regular on London's jazz club circuit and was negotiating a record deal with EMI when she got her big acting break. She also played a Russian cabaret chanteuse in the 1995 James Bond film Goldeneye, murdering Tammy Wynette's country classic, Stand By Your Man.
Reviews of Minnie's London shows - with a backing band that included members of The Wallflowers - to launch the album compared her voice favourably to the likes of Natalie Merchant and Liz Phair; while her set included a version of Bruce Springsteen's Hungry Heart.
The Finn Brothers' UK tour is in support of their recent album, Everyone Is Here - their first since 1995's Finn.
