HANDYMAN Dave Day thought he was seeing double after picking up a copy of Thursday's Daily Echo.
For on the front page was a picture of a tradesmen expert who took part in a trading standards survey to catch out rip-off traders.
Since the picture appeared Mr Day has received phone calls from customers and even members of his family convinced that he was the man in the picture.
In one case a customer even cancelled an appointment made with Mr Day because they associated him with the rogue traders found in the survey.
Mr Day, owner of Handyman, which specialises in PVC doors, windows, facias, soffits and gutters, said yesterday: "It's not me.
"Even my brother called to ask me where it was taken. My business is my livelihood and if people cancel on me because they think I am dishonest then my business could suffer."
Speaking of the investigation into bogus traders, Mr Day said: "I agree with it 100 per cent, we have got to get rid of them."
David Morton from Bournemouth Borough Council trading standards confirmed that Mr Day was not involved in the House of Horrors investigation.
Mr Day can be contacted on 01202 778511.
