Dorchester hope to include Portuguese winger Diogo Andrade in their squad when they return to Nationwide Conference South action at home to the full-time high-flyers from Grays Athletic tomorrow following a two-week break (3pm).

The AFC Bournemouth attacker is in line for a loan move to the Avenue Stadium to keep him match fit and Magpies boss Mark Morris said providing the paperwork is completed in time, Andrade will be in his side to face the second-placed Essex outfit - regardless of whether Basque striker Juan Ugarte returns from Wrexham or not.

"It's not an either-or situation," said Morris. "I am waiting to hear today whether Juan is being offered anything at Wrexham following his trial up there and, if he isn't, he could be coming back to us to play tomorrow.

Confident

"But I believe we are still a couple of players short, so if they are both available to me so much the better."

Morris watched Andrade when he scored in Bourne-mouth Reserves' 1-0 win over Weymouth Reserves recently and though he was denied a second look when his side's planned mid-week friendly against the Cherries was called off on Wednesday he is confident the youngster will shine in the Conference South.

"He's a typical continental type player who is very comfortable on the ball," said Morris. "He's quick and sharp and looks very good in one-on-ones."

However, if neither Ugarte or Andrade end up making the squad, Morris will be happy to stick with the players who did superbly to come away with a

2-2 draw from Cambridge City in their last game on October 8.

"It seems like a long time ago because we've had two weekends off," said Morris. "But we mustn't forget what a good performance that was and if we can play like that again we must have a chance of upsetting Grays.

"By all accounts they are a big, strong side who stick to a rigid formation - a bit like Thurrock who beat us 2-0 here earlier in the season - and it will be another game where we will have to be near our best to get anything."

Skipper Alex Browne would have missed the mid-week friendly after having problems with an ankle, but Morris says that was just a precaution and he should be fit to face Grays.

"Alex has seen the doctor at the Winterbourne Hospital who thought he had some tendonitis in his ankle," he explained. "He gave him an injection and since then it has improved."

Meanwhile Andy Harris, Browne's partner in the centre of defence for the first month of the season, is still a couple of weeks away from a comeback after breaking a bone in his foot.

n Morris has signed Italian goalkeeper Roco Bacchini on non-contract terms as additional cover for the club's number one keeper Craig Bradshaw and Paul Myers.

The 33-year-old Bacchini, who was once number three for the top Serie A club Parma and trained in Italy with the Juventus and national keeper Gianluigi Buffon, has recently been turning out for Bourne-mouth Sports in the Dorset Premier League.

"He has been down training with us a couple of times and you can see he has played at a good level," said Morris .

"I also had very good reports from Phil Simkin after he played against our reserves a couple of weeks ago and with Mark Ormerod moving to Worthing it will be good to have another experienced keeper around for cover.

"It won't cost us anything unless he plays for us and in the meantime he will continue to turn out for Bournemouth Sports."

Gary Middleton has signed a contract with the Magpies until the end of the 2005/2006 season. The move comes after the young ex-Reading defender impressed Dorchester boss Mark Morris in his nine matches so far this season.
