A WEYMOUTH school is forging new links with the community by holding evening classes in traditional craftsmanship.
Leading Edge Training is an organisation attached to Budmouth Technology College and holds courses in forged metalwork for adults.
Sutton Poyntz-based lecturer Simon Grant-Jones, an associate of the Worshipful Company of Blacksmiths, makes tools for people in specialist jobs.
He is currently helping a re-enactment group make traditional and authentic tools in the technology college's forge.
School spokesman Jane Fooks said: "The course is so popular that the next placements will not be available until Easter time.
"This is a really good example of our industrial links."
It costs £50 for a course of seven evening classes, which take place at 6.30pm every Monday.
