THERE will be no knee jerk re-action from Dorchester boss Mark Morris to Saturday's 7-0 humbling by Grays Athletic when they host mid-table Hayes in the Conference South tonight (7.45pm).

"We have suffered one-off results like that before and always come back strongly, so I don't think this is the time to do anything dra-

matic," said Morris who is likely to give the same players the chance to redeem themselves in the eyes of the Avenue Stadium faithful tonight.

"After Saturday it's vital that we re-group quickly and get back to playing like we did at Cambridge in our previous game," he added.

"Budget-wise Hayes are more like us than Grays and they are the kind of side we have to get points off. That's not to say we haven't got a chance against the big boys of the division, but as we found out on Saturday, if you under-perform against them you are going to be in big trouble."

However, he warned his players that another under-par display tonight would definitely mean changes for Saturday's re-arranged game at Eastbourne Borough.

"We have to take Saturday's bad performance on the chin, re-organise and come out fighting with a lot more spirit - but if we don't perform tonight then there will be changes."

Morris has just signed a two-year extension to his contract that will keep him at Dorchester until

2007 and says his aim is to establish the Magpies as a top six side in their league by the end of that time.

"There will be some bad days like Saturday and some good days too," he commented. "But we have had a fair amount of success over the past couple of years on a tight budget and I know we can keep progressing by signing the right players in the right wage band.

"I do get the hump sometimes when I don't think the lads have done themselves justice, but overall they are a good bunch and the spirit in the club is great."

Victory tonight against a young Hayes side could lift the Magpies back into the top half of the table.
