BASHLEY skipper Danny Gibbons played both hero and villain in his side's comfortable Bryco Cup first round victory over Ryman Two Abingdon Town.
Gibbons netted a first-half brace as the hosts raced into a four-goal lead inside half an hour.
But he was then shown a straight red card in the second period for supposedly kicking out at an opponent after the ball had gone.
By then however, the tie was won. The captain netted the first with a deflected looping effort before Paul Gazzard drilled in his first senior goal for Bash from distance.
Andy Culliford's firm low shot defeated the visiting goalkeeper at his near post for the third before Gibbons completed the scoring from a corner.
Bash: Harper, Gazzard, Ferrett, Thomas, Potter, Byles, Wakefield (Head 75), Culliford, Langrish, Gibbons, Gillespie (Totczyk 55). Unused subs: Jones, Flanagan, Elm.
