FINDING NEVERLAND (PG)

Outstanding drama: See main review.

EXORCIST: THE BEGINNING (15)

Shambolic horror: See review.

LITTLE BLACK BOOK (12A)

Predictable comedy: See review.

ALIEN VS PREDATOR (15)

A crack team of B-list actors is dispatched to dig up a mysterious pyramid frozen into the Antarctic. Bad move. Inside are two sets of unpleasant beasties just itching to cover the screen in gloop and gore.

ALFIE (15)

Remake of 60s classic transplants Alfie (Jude Law) to New York, but otherwise remains pretty faithful to the story of the amoral Casanova but does manage to get rid of the original's charm.

THE PRINCESS DIARIES 2 - ROYAL ENGAGEMENT (U)

The sequel to the 2001 hit is a thinly-veiled facsimile of the first film. Princess Mia (Anne Hathaway) must find a husband within 30 days if she is to ascend to the throne.

FIVE CHILDREN AND IT (U)

Evacuated to an eccentric uncle's mansion while their father flies daring First World War missions, the five winsome siblings dig up a mischievous sand fairy (a zippy Eddie

Izzard). High charm levels.

SHARK TALE (U)

Undersea computer-animated comedy from the producers of Shrek. A fast-talking little fish (voiced by Will Smith) gets into hot water with a formidable family of great white sharks.

INSIDE I'M DANCING (15)

Disabled friends Michael (Steven Robertson) and Rory (James McAvoy) are granted their wish to live in their own flat. Complications arise when Michael develops a crush on their carer (Romola Garai). Uplifting and touchingly played.

WHITE CHICKS (12A)

Crass, contrived and achingly familiar but enjoyable romp.

MAN ON FIRE (18)

Denzel Washington is brilliant as a burnt-out former CIA assassin who finds bodyguard work in kidnap-ridden Mexico.

BRIDE & PREJUDICE (12A)

Bend It Like Beckham director Gurinder Chadha transplants the classic tale of marriages and manners to modern-day India, England and America with spectacular, colour-drenched dance sequences.

RESIDENT EVIL: APOCALYPSE (15)

Partially defrosted from cryogenic stasis, the ever-expressionless Milla Jovovich finds a deadly virus unleashed. Masses of action, zero excitement.

SAW (18)

Two men awake to find themselves prisoners of serial killer. Inventive menace.

WIMBLEDON (12A)

Likeable rom-com. Notting Hill with racquets lifted by strong performances.
