YOUNG Beaminster tennis ace Amy Nicholson, aged eight, came overall fourth and was 0.04 of a point away from third place in the Ten and Under Greens doubles competition at Taunton.
A member of Loders Young Players, Amy was partnered by Danielle CrossHenley, also eight, playing against children in a higher age group.
Amy has now started her performance programme at Taunton, devised for her by head professional of the South West Tennis Academy and Somerset county coach, Derek Blackmore.
She has also been selected for the Dorset Under 10s team and is first reserve for their game at Exeter against Somerset and Devon in the Three Counties competition on November 27.
