Bridport's third quarter fightback

Bridport Evolution 78 North Devon 67

BRIDPORT were involved in a thrilling match that had just about everything.

They started as firm favourites but made heavy going of it in the first quarter, top scorer Craig Sorrel missing shot after shot and player coach Tony Glover finished the quarter on just one point.

The teams then were all square at 14-all starting the second quarter.

But when it looked like things could not get worse Bridport lost control of the game completely and were caught on the break time after time, finishing the first half trailing by 16 points at 2,440.

North Devon must have been more than confident as the game should have been beyond the reach of Bridport at this stage.

However, Bridport put on an exceptional performance in the third quarter, the defence was watertight and the offence was sublime as Bridport outscored the visitors by 29 points to 13 to level the scores.

The last quarter watched Bridport ease to victory with a personal best from Sorrell, who scored 35 points, and strong performances by Dan Park, Tom Glover, and Neil Gray.

This gives Bridport five points from three games after beating Broadclyst and losing to Taunton last week.
