DORCHESTER are hoping the appeal of a trial with AFC Bournemouth will bring Basque striker Juan Ugarte back from Wrexham.
The Magpies have been finding goals hard to come by since Ugarte left a month ago to try and win a contract with the Coca-Cola League side and now Magpies chairman Eddie Belt is urging the Welsh club to make up their minds or send him back south.
"From what I hear I don't think they have got any money to sign him on a contract and it seems they are just stringing him along," said Belt.
"I know he is desperate to get a full-time contract and that he'll probably still be looking elsewhere even if he does come back to us.
"But I would have thought coming back and banging in a few goals in the Nationwide Conference South, as he was doing before he went to Wrexham, would be as good a way as any of attracting attention. Mark Morris has arranged with Cherries manager Sean O'Driscoll for him to spend a few weeks in full-time training with them so they can have a look at him and see what they think.
"He could then continue playing for us so we are hoping that might entice him back."
However he admitted that at the moment the club is finding it difficult even to make contact with Juan who played for Wrexham's Reserves for a second time on Wednesday when they were hammered 6-0 at Macclesfield in the Pontin's League.
Meanwhile Morris could give Cherries on-loan Portuguese winger Diogo Andrade his first Conference South start tomorrow when they travel along the South Coast for their second meeting of the season with their old Dr Martens rivals Eastbourne Borough (3pm).
Full-back Carl Poore, who came on at half-time against Hayes in midweek and inspired a Magpies comeback, is also expected to begin a senior game for the first time since August 23 at Havant and Waterlooville.
