YOUNGSTERS showed their creative flair as they crafted lanterns for Victorian Shownight.
Brownies, guides and families gathered at the Old Town Hall yesterday to make decorative lanterns for a shownight parade through the streets on November 25. Organisers Weymouth Community Volunteers expect about 100 individually-designed lanterns to be created in a series of workshops and hope the lights will add a festive touch to Shownight.
Chairman of the volunteers Jenny Stiling said: "There are 10 workshops in October and November, in which more than 100 enthusiastic lantern makers will produce their own individual creations. I can't wait to see them all together in the parade.
"Most of the lantern makers will walk the parade, others will be in the Weymouth land train."
