CHARITY workers were presented with a share of £25,000 raised from this year's Weymouth Carnival.
Almost 50 representatives from local and national organisations were delighted to receive cheques from Weymouth Round Table's carnival committee at a reception in the Prince Regent Hotel.
Among the organisations that benefited were the Samaritans, WOW Youth Musical Theatre and Korean Veterans.
Carnival committee vice-chairman Mark Bonnett said: "It was a very good year in terms of money raised. This was collected from the grand draw, stalls, sales of programmes, the procession and sponsorship.
"Most of the beneficiaries were from charities that helped out at the carnival."
