A LUXURIOUS boat belonging to one of the richest men in the world has called into Portland Port.
Crew moored the Octopus, one of the biggest yachts in the world, at the former navy base over the weekend.
Paul Allen, who founded the Microsoft computer empire with Bill Gates, owns the 130 metre long superyacht.
The vessel is said to boast 10 floors, two helicopters, a basketball court, music studio, cinema, mini-submarine and a smaller yacht for shore excursions.
Portland Port spokesman Rupert Best said it was a private visit and that he could not say any more about the boat or who was on board.
The Octopus has a crew of up to 50 staff.
Mr Allen, who is in his early 50s, has been spotted sailing around the Mediterranean and the South of France but it is not known if his boat will return to Portland.
He has entertained guests including fellow Microsoft founder Bill Gates, tennis champion Monica Seles and glass artist Dale Chihuly on his other yachts
