MARK Morris fears injury and illness may upset his plans to use at least the first half of Dorchester's friendly against AFC Bournemouth at the Avenue Stadium tonight (ko 7.15) as a dress rehearsal for Saturday's return to Nationwide Conference South action at home to second in the table Cambridge City.
"My plan was to start with a side that was as close as I could get to what I would like to play against Cambridge at the weekend and then to have a look at several trialists in the second half," said Morris whose side have not played for ten days after the postponement of their scheduled visit to league leaders Grays Athletic on Saturday through their FA Trophy involvement.
"Unfortunately there are still doubts about Antony Griffin and Joseba Barandiaran, who were both injured in our last game against Carshalton Athletic, and there's no point risking them in a friendly if it would jeopardise their chances of returning on Saturday.
"We've also got quite a bit of illness in the camp at the moment and I had two days in bed over the weekend with some kind of bug. Paul Morrell was also ill and Carl Poore didn't play in the reserves as intended because he was under the weather too."
