A BB-gunman who has shot through dozens of Poole windows in the past fortnight has struck six more times in the town - and Bournemouth businesses have now fallen victim to similar shootings.
As reported in the Daily Echo on Tuesday, the yob has fired though windows in homes, pubs and shops throughout Poole in the past 10 days, and police received another six reports of windows targeted on Monday night.
Detective Inspector Steve Thorpe, of Poole CID, said they are gathering intelligence about the crimes and a number of people have called them in response to an appeal for witnesses in the Echo yesterday.
He added that the shootings are predominantly happening at weekends.
Two Bournemouth businesses were also targeted by a BB gunman on Sunday night.
Windows were damaged at the funeral director W Smith and Sons and the empty Just Add Water shop on the opposite side of Wimborne Road sometime after 11pm.
Michelle Jose, administrator at W Smith and Sons, said: "It made quite a mess. There were shards of glass all over our reception area that took a good couple of hours to clean up."
There were also 11 shootings in Purbeck two weeks ago, and DI Thorpe said it was difficult to tell whether these were linked to the Poole attacks.
"We need to get some intelligence to identify who has done it, and then we can see if there are any links to Swanage," he said.
Anyone with information should call Poole police on 01202 222222 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
