A WOMAN from Poole was killed when the car she was a passenger in smashed into the central reservation.
The 41-year-old died from a head injury at the scene of the accident, on the Dorset Way approximately 400 metres east of the junction with Adastral Road.
The crash happened at around 9.30pm on Friday, when the silver BMW 520 car she was in, driven by a 41-year-old from Southampton, hit the central reservation and rolled over on to a grass verge.
The driver was taken to Poole hospital by ambulance, where he was treated for slight injuries.
Police are urging witnesses who saw the incident, or the manner in which the BMW was being driven prior to the collision, to contact the investigating officer, PC 1149 Shaun Sutton at the Ferndown road policing unit, on 01202 222222.
