ANDY Harris admits it was a shock when someone told him that next season was his tenth as a Dorchester player.
"Where have the last ten years gone," said the former Sherborne, Bridport and Yeovil defender whose long service with the Magpies is being rewarded with a testimonial next season.
"It only seems like yesterday that I played my first game against Newport (IoW) and when I was told a couple of weeks ago that the club wanted to give me a testimonial for ten years it was a complete shock.
"I just couldn't believe it was that long, then I sat down and looked out my programme for my first big game here against Woking in the FA Trophy and there was the date - 1996-97.
"It's gone so quickly and that's probably because every season there seems to have been something happening. Either we have been fighting relegation, going for promotion, having a cup run or something.
"This is probably the first season which looks like being a mid-table one where nothing really happens - but I guess having got into the Conference South we'll settle for an uneventful year for once."
