LITTLE Tegan Barker has been presented with her award for triumphing in the prestigious Dorset Echo Child of the Year portrait contest.
Two-year-old Tegan received a framed copy of her winning portrait, a trophy and £100 in Woolworths vouchers.
Tegan, of Boleyn Crescent, Weymouth, who attended the ceremony at the town's Woolworths store with mum Emma, dad Gary and brother Aiden, eight, won the competition after winning a tougher battle - with meningitis.
A little over a year ago battler Tegan was blinded by the life-threatening illness and had to be resuscitated twice when her heart stopped in hospital. Now the Sunny Days Nursery School girl is back to full fitness and, according to her mum, is a chatterbox and livewire.
Also receiving their prizes from Echo deputy editor Cliff Moore, Woolworths manager Lisa Cridland and Jon Fraser of photographers Fraser Portraits, were our three category winners.
They were Tyler Baker, two, of Weymouth (boys category), Archie Baker, 10 months, of Weymouth (babies) and Ellis and Cameron Taylor, two and five months, of Weymouth (family groups). They each received a framed portrait, a trophy and £75 in vouchers.
