Sorrell nets extra time points
Bridport Evolution 89 Okehampton 82
BRIDPORT began comfortably and won the first quarter by five, but they relaxed too much, and great three-point shooting by Okehampton had the hosts trailing at half time.
The home team battled hard in the third, pushing in front with strong pressure defence and good fast breaks, which helped Dan park notch up his 27 points.
In the fourth quarter, Evolution defended well to stop a basket, but with less than a second left, they fouled on a three point shot and could only watch as Okehampton scored their three free throws to tie the game.
In overtime, Craig Sorrell, who had a quiet game by his standards, came good, scoring nine points in the final period.
It was a good team effort by Bridport and a stand out performance from joint high scorer Tony Glover helped give them the edge.
Bridport - players and points: Park 27, Tony Glover 27, Sorrell 20, Gray 8, Tom Glover 6, Morris 1, Pattemore, Mamanta.
