24hr round for fund-raising Buxton
STEVE BUXTON will tee-off on his longest round of golf ever in the name of charity this summer.
The 35-year-old will play non-stop for 24 hours on Lyme Regis Golf Club's course in a bid to raise funds for three good causes.
The Flamingo Pool, Axminster, the Jubilee Sailing Trust and Babes Big Appeal are set to gain from the 6-handicapper's ambitious adventure on June 17.
Steve, who has been playing golf since he was eight, has already received great support from Sky Sport's 'World of Golf' show and Radio 1's DJ Spoony.
Both will plug the event in which Steve aims to complete more than 10 rounds, each with a different partner.
When darkness falls he will light up the fairways, bunkers, flags and holes with glow sticks and use specially designed glowing golf balls.
Steve is actually the manager of the Flamingo Pool which is a charitable community pool providing the only publicly available hydrotherapy pool in the country.
The Jubilee Sailing Trust hope to promote the integration of people of all physical abilities through the challenge and adventure of tall ship sailing.
While Babes Big Appeal aims to raise money to provide a second children's hospice in the south west of England.
