PEUGEOT'S revolutionary electric sliding door 1007 will cost from £10,850 when it goes on sale here this summer.

Available in Dolce and Sport trim levels, the three-door small car range starts with the entry price 1.4-litre Dolce and Sport 1.4 2-Tronic costing £12,100, rising to £12,600 for the top of the range Sport 1.6 2-Tronic.

All models feature those now famous twin electric sliding doors, which replace conventional side doors, plus air conditioning with an athermic windscreen, trip computer, radio/CD player, front fog lights, seven airbags, electronic stability control system (ESP), anti-lock braking (ABS), traction control (ASR) and stability control (CDS).

Customers will be able to tailor each model to their own specific requirements from a lengthy list of optional equipment including cruise control, rear parking aid, full length glass electric sunroof, 5-disc CD auto-changer and RT3 telematics/satellite navigation system.

Engine options include a choice of two petrol units at 75bhp from the 1.4 litre and 110bhp from the 1.6 litre plus a 70bhp HDi 1.4 litre diesel unit with a choice of manual and 2-Tronic manual transmissions.
