A TEENAGER had to be taken to hospital after being attacked by a gang of six men.

The 19-year-old was set upon in in Heathlands Close, Crossways, in what police are calling a 'sustained assault'.

The man, who lives locally, was taken to Dorset County Hospital suffering from bruising and facial injuries. He was not kept in overnight and discharged himself after treatment.

Insp Les Fry of Dorches-ter police said: "This was an extremely vicious attack carried out by up to six people. Somebody must have seen or heard what happened."
